Trace the history of 20th-century art in textiles, and be among the first to see two recently discovered pieces of clothing made with designs by Andy Warhol.

This exhibition explores how over the last century modern art has played a personal and intimate role in people’s everyday lives through clothing and furnishings.

Over 200 rare, vintage pieces are on display in the UK for the first time outside London. Highlights include prints of works by Salvador Dalí, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol, and examples of key European and American art movements are featured such as Fauvism, Cubism, Abstraction, Surrealism and Pop Art.

Four recent discoveries of clothing made from printed silk textiles designed by Andy Warhol are on display, including two items exhibited here for the first time ever: a candy apple silk blouse, and a dress made with Warhol’s button design textile.
