An exploration of artist-activists in contemporary feminism spanning 2010 to present
This collaborative exhibition by the South London Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum, part of the V&A Parasol Foundation Women in Photography Project, explores the role of artists in contemporary feminist activism. Set to open on International Women's Day in March 2024, it spans from 2010 to the present, delving into the fourth wave of feminism.
The exhibition reflects on global manifestations of this wave, emphasising expanding intersectionality, deepening solidarity, and the impact of the internet and social media. The concept is framed by significant events of the past decade, including the Me Too movement and the 2022 Roe vs Wade overturning.
