Elise's photographs of wildlife in its environment around her village of Sledmere are perfect captured moments.

We are honoured to host this remarkable exhibition: Elise’s Sledmere which celebrates the extraordinary talent of photographer Elise Thomas and the Wolds wildlife of her village at Sledmere. An original display at Sledmere attracted national recognition, so a selection of Elise’s photographs has been brought to Sewerby Hall & Gardens to offer a new audience the opportunity to experience her exceptional work.

This collection showcases Elise’s passion for wildlife and her extraordinary skill at capturing the perfect image. Tragically, Elise passed away aged 17 after a road traffic accident. This gifted young photographer developed her technique during Covid-19 lockdown; her eye for the perfect composition and dedication to her craft rapidly earned respect and accolades.
