Intimate photography exploring queer life, identity, and activism across decades
Sunil Gupta’s images unveil queer experience and activism across continents. His lens captures private moments and public struggle, revealing the intersections of identity, tradition and modernity. Over 130 works span street photography, portraits and commissioned projects, reflecting life in Delhi, Montreal, New York and London.
Series such as Friends and Lovers, Christopher Street, Mr Malhotra’s Party, and Dissent and Desire highlight joy, resilience and the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. Each image celebrates connection, courage and the right to live authentically, making the exhibition both moving and inspiring.
