The Easter story in art

Talk and Tour | St George's Church, Jesmond

Marie Therese Mayne, charismatic and enthusiastic local art historian, currently Exhibitions Officer at Durham Cathedral, will give a talk exploring the Easter story and how artists have chosen to portray it over the years. Beginning with the transfiguration, follow Christ’s journey to Jerusalem, the Holy Week and Good Friday to the miracle of Easter Day and beyond.

Preceding the talk there will be a guided tour of the magnificent St George’s Church designed in the late 19th Century in the Art & Crafts style by T.R.Spence.

This event has been organised by the Northumberland Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
