'Fakes and Forgeries', a talk by Vernon Rapley

Talk | Dalswinton Estate

Tuesday 23 April 2013 - 18:30

'Fakes and Forgeries' promises to be a unique insight into the fascinating world of art crime detection with Vernon Rapley, former head of Scotland Yard's specialist Art and Antique Unit.

The title of the talk comes from the exhibition Vernon was asked to curate in 2010 at the V&A in London. After spending the last 10 years recovering millions of pounds of stolen, laundered and faked works of art, Vernon is now Director of Security and Visitor services at the V&A and has founded the first National Museums Security Group. He regularly lectures and makes TV and radio appearances.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
