Unlike a conventional group show where contributors illustrate a defined theme, Journal brings together a loose configuration of work that explores the artist’s role in questioning the world.

International artists, theorists and writers present works that bring focus to contemporary issues. These might be major events - such as the aftermath of the 2011 earthquake in Japan - or more subtle; like the connections that people make online.

Submissions range from installation, photography and film to participatory performance and talks, hosted across the gallery and website. Participants involved in the project include Rosella Biscotti, Edson Chagas, Duncan Campbell, Cyprien Gaillard, Buchra Khalili and Koki Tanaka.
