Join us for a curator’s tour of Botanical Women before enjoying a delicious afternoon tea in the historic Great Hall at Chawton House.
From as early as the 17th century, women have played a crucial but often hidden role in horticulture and plant science. These women were writers, artists, collectors and educators who popularised horticulture and the study of plants, and played a crucial role in the advancement of botany.
