Join us for a curator’s tour of Botanical Women before enjoying a delicious afternoon tea in the historic Great Hall at Chawton House.

From as early as the 17th century, women have played a crucial but often hidden role in horticulture and plant science. These women were writers, artists, collectors and educators who popularised horticulture and the study of plants, and played a crucial role in the advancement of botany.

Discover the stories of horticulture's hidden heroines on a guided tour of the exhibition with the curator, be one of the first to see the new illustrations on display and the spring flowers that will soon be blooming in the gardens.

After the tour, take a seat by the fire in the historic Great Hall and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea, inspired by the beauty of spring.
