The first large-scale UK exhibition of Sámi visual artist Outi Pieski

Sámi artist Outi Pieski is based in Ohcejohka (Utsjoki), northern Finland. Her work employs traditional craftsmanship and contemporary elements to address indigenous identity and the impact of climate change on her community. Her immersive installations, featuring vibrant textiles and organic materials, weave a narrative that transcends cultural boundaries.

Pieski incorporates duodji (the traditional craft practices of the Sámi people) using materials such as wood and textile, prompting reflection on cultural heritage and environmental challenges. Tate St Ives provides a dynamic platform for this thought-provoking exploration of art, culture, and social consciousness.
