A talk about the life and times of Eliza Carr, mid-19th-century pupil at the British School in Bratton, Wiltshire.
Terry Ransome was with the British Schools Museum in Hitchin when they acquired a needlework sample by Eliza Tabitha Carr and dated 1865. But who was Eliza? What could they find out about her and her school in Bratton, Wiltshire? This talk tells Eliza’s story.
We are planning to hold the talk live in the Rausing Building subject to Covid-19 regulations. Please check the Athelstan Museum website for updates.
