Be immersed in tapestry installations weaving stories from South Africa’s history.
Born in Bonteheuwel, a former segregated township in Cape Town, South African artist Igshaan Adams draws upon his experience to explore race, religion and sexuality in his intensely crafted work.
This new exhibition features his beautiful textiles and tapestries which weave together beads, seashells, gemstones and glass. Referencing childhood memories, family relationships and politically charged spaces, Adams works of art map his past and tackle generational trauma.
