An iconic painting by Vermeer comes to Scotland
A Young Woman Standing at a Virginal is one of Vermeer’s most important paintings, and as part of National Treasures, a programme celebrating the National Gallery’s bicentenary, visitors will be able to see it in Edinburgh.
As one of 12 other exhibitions across the UK showcasing works of art from the National Gallery’s collection, this exhibition will display Vermeer’s masterpiece alongside one of his earliest surviving paintings, Christ in the House of Martha and Mary.
