Guided Tour | Scampston Hall
Thursday 18 August 2016 - 10:45 until 16:00
There will be a guided walking tour of the Capability Brown landscape, followed by a volunteer led visit of the walled garden. Created by Dutch garden designer Piet Oudolf, the garden is imaginatively divided into rooms: the Perennial Meadow, the Serpentine Garden, the Mount, the Box Gardens, the Silent Garden and the Plantsmen's Walk with many rare species of shrubs and perennials. After lunch there will be a guided tour of the delightful Regency House with a fine collection of paintings, furniture and porcelain. The newly restored Victorian conservatory houses an art display and exhibition of 19th century estate life. There will be additional time to revisit the walled garden and shop.
Lunch is not included and can be purchased for an additional £15.
This event has been organised by the North Yorkshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
