Visit to Walsall Leather Museum and the New Art Gallery

Visit | Walsall Leather Museum and the New Art Gallery

Wednesday 1 May 2013 - 10:00 until 15:30

For 200 years Walsall people have been making some of the world's finest saddles and leather goods. Walsall Leather Museum seeks to celebrate this great tradition and reflect the achievements of the leather craftsmen and women of Walsall. The visit will include the opportunity to watch skilled leather workers in the process of hand-crafting leather goods such as wallets and purses.

In the afternoon at the New Art Gallery there will be a curator-led guided tour of the Art Funded Damien Hirst Artists Rooms exhibition and explore how this collection has been linked to the New Art Gallery's Garman Ryan Collection.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
