Wilton's Music Hall

Visit | Wilton's Music Hall

Friday 23 September 2011 - 18:00 until 19:30

Wilton's Music Hall, founded in 1858, enjoyed packed houses in the glittering auditorium before being closed down after a disastrous fire in the 1880s. Grade II listed in 1971, after attempts at restoration it re-opened in 1997 with a production of Eliot's The Waste Land and has become a cultural and community venue, despite the continuing struggle to secure its future. We tour the magnificently faded interior before soaking up the evocative atmosphere over refreshments in the bar.
