Jonathan Marsden was appointed Director of the Royal Collections in April 2010 after previously working as the Deputy Surveyor of The Queenâ€™s Works of Art. The Royal Collection is one of the largest and more important art collections in the world and is held in trust by The Queen for successors and the Nation. The Royal Collection is wide-ranging and reflects the tastes of British Sovereigns spanning 500 years. Jonathan has published widely on sculpture, particularly on French bronzes and on the history of collecting. He worked on the recent exhibition about Queen Victoria and Prince Albert at the Queenâ€™s Gallery, Buckingham Palace entitled Victoria & Albert: Art & Love.
