A playful gallery-based workshop combining exploration of art, storytelling and hands-on making for children.
Gallery Takeover is a creative, interactive session for children aged 5+ at The Bowes Museum.
The workshop invites young visitors to explore the museum’s galleries, looking closely at artworks and objects to uncover stories, characters and ideas.
Inspired by what they discover, children then take part in hands-on making using clay and recycled materials, sculpting imaginative figures or objects of their own.
Blending looking, making and storytelling, Gallery Takeover encourages curiosity, creative thinking and confidence in responding to art.
Sessions run on 22 & 29 July and 5, 12 & 19 August, from 10:30–11:30am, offering families a fun and engaging way to experience the museum together during the summer holidays.
Included in museum admission. Under 18, full time students and carers go free.
