An artist-led workshop encouraging young people to explore museum objects with curiosity.
The Wonder Workshop is a hands-on session for curious young people aged 10–16 at The Bowes Museum.
Designed for those who enjoy asking questions and looking more closely, the workshop explores stories behind objects in the museum’s collection, from how mechanisms work to the meaning of symbols in paintings and iconic pieces such as the Silver Swan.
Blending art with ideas from science, technology, engineering and maths, participants are encouraged to think creatively, investigate how things are made and develop their own interpretations.
Sessions take place on 21 & 28 July and 4, 11, 18 & 25 August, from 12:30–2pm, offering an engaging summer holiday opportunity for young people to dig deeper, share ideas and explore the museum in a thoughtful, creative way.
Included in museum admission. Under 18, full time students and carers go free.
