Museums and galleries across the UK are subject to temporary closures. Those that remain open have safety measures in place, please remember to check venue guidelines before visiting.

When the Laing first opened in 1904, it didn't have a collection. Showcased over two galleries, this display includes artworks by both notable and unknown artists that have been donated, gifted or purchased over the past century.

The updated display features modern works alongside old favourites dating back as far as the 15th century. Highlights include work by Helen Baker, Harold Knight, John Martin, William Holman-Hunt, Edward Burne-Jones, Jennifer Douglas, William Gear, Ronald B. Kitaj, Florence Ward, Jennifer Douglas, Laura Lancaster, Marlene Dumas, plus many more.
