Take a fresh look at the Vikings as two major collections are brought together at the Yorkshire Museum.

The more we discover about the Vikings, the more extraordinary they reveal themselves to be. This exhibition, which unites the most important artefacts found in the UK, draws us closer than ever to a fascinating and complex people.

With the collaboration of the British Museum, some of the most exciting objects ever unearthed are on display together for the first time, throwing new light on Viking and Anglo-Saxon life in Britain.

As well as seeing famous discoveries such as the Lewis Chessmen, the York Helmet and the Vale of York Viking Hoard, visitors can explore the Viking’s winter camp at Torksey through specially designed virtual reality headsets.

Revealing new finds by metal-detectorists are also on display and insights into cutting-edge research by archaeologists.
