A unique insight into the origins of some of Blake’s most popular creations, including Roald Dahl's The Twits and The Boy in The Dress by David Walliams.

Quentin Blake is one of the nation's best loved illustrators, having produced artwork for more than 300 books during his extraordinary career. This exhibition brings together first roughs and storyboards – many never shown before – with finished art work, demonstrating how the illustrator's ideas evolve during the creative process.

Blake's designs encompass a wide range of different media including inks, watercolours and pastels; each is particular to the mood of a book and the nature of its characters.
