Wye Valley churches and Sir Roy Strong's Laskett Gardens

A visit to the churches of Brockhampton and Hoarwithy in the beautiful Wye Valley, and then Laskett Gardens. Brockhampton church, designed by the Arts and Crafts movement, incorporates the work of local craftsmen and the tapestries by Burne-Jones. In 1840 Hoarwithy church was beautified to become an impressive Italianate Romanesque and Byzantine building including a fine Burne-Jones window.
The Laskett Gardens, created by historian, writer and garden designer, Sir Roy Strong and his late wife Julia Trevelyan Oman were started in 1974, cover four acres and are described as the largest formal gardens created in England since 1945.

This event has been organised by the Warwickshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
