Hurrah for Herr Hundertwasser! The Austrian Gaudi? Professor Binfield Lecture - Sold out
Lecture | Quaker Meeting House
Thursday 9 February 2017 - 18:30 until 20:30
All tourists in central Vienna make their way at some point to the Hundertwasser Haus, a block of social housing that shocks even the most hardened visitor into delighted surprise. It is the creation of Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928-2000). His buildings, range from a spa-hotel to a domestic rubbish incineration and urban heating unit, from a motorway service station to a German secondary school named after Martin Luther. Regular speaker, Professor Binfield, will introduce his startling buildings.
This event is identical to the lecture in November 2016, when due to technical problems, we were unable to go ahead. Not all who booked originally can attend this new date, so a small number of places are now available.
Tea at the Italian restaurant before the lecture, nearby, is an option.
This event has been organised by the South Yorkshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
