Eileen Gray SOLD OUT

Private View | Osborne Samuel Gallery

Tuesday 20 October 2015 - 18:00 until 19:30

The Irish furniture designer and architect Eileen Gray (1878 - 1976) was a pioneer of the Modern Movement in architecture. Perhaps best known for her innovative Bibendum Chair, one of the 20th century's most recognisable furniture designs, she designed numerous buildings and their furnishings but since the Second World War has been overlooked despite her designs being as familiar as other important early 20th Century architects and designers such as Mies van de Rohe and Le Corbusier. This exhibition contains an important private collection of drawings and designs, together with her working desk and some personal ephemera.

There will be an introductory talk and an accompanied tour of the exhibition by Gordon Samuel, Director of the Gallery.

This event has been organised by the London Events Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
