Museum of London Docklands SOLD OUT

Guided Tour | Museum of London Docklands

Wednesday 23 September 2015 - 14:30 until 16:00

London is the world’s greatest trading city. This curator-led tour of The Museum of London Docklands reveals the history of the ports of London from Roman times to the present day, including fascinating archaeological evidence of London’s Norman and medieval ports, the development of the British empire through trade from Elizabethan times onwards, a reconstruction of the ‘both foul and picturesque’ Victorian Wapping and the Port of London’s role in the Second World War. It is also an opportunity to see the exhibition ‘Soldiers and Suffragettes – the Photography of Christina Broom’ which celebrates the UK’s first woman press photographer.

This event has been organised by the London Events Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
