The most comprehensive exhibition of abstract artist Kim Lim’s work to date.
The first major museum exhibition of Kim Lim's work since 1999, unveiling her extensive artistic legacy and significant contribution to modern art. Lim (1936-1997), originally from Singapore, pursued her art studies in the UK under the tutelage of Anthony Caro and Elizabeth Frink.
This showcase features over 100 artworks spanning four decades, accompanied by previously unseen archive material. It sheds light on her diverse exploration of abstraction across various media, including wood and metal sculptures from the 1950s-1970s, and minimalist stone carvings from the 1980s-1990s. The exhibition also emphasizes Lim's printmaking, showcasing interconnectedness with her sculpting, and her travels across Asia are documented through rare photographs.
