Holmwood House

Visit and Talk | Holmwood House

Wednesday 29 April 2015 - 08:15

Holmwood house is the finest and most elaborate residential villa designed by the Scottish architect Alexander 'Greek' Thomson. What makes it particularly special is that it retains much of its original decor.

At the Hunterian the group will visit two exhibitions and be given introductions by their curators. The one entitled 'Ingenious Impressions' is the first major U.K. exhibition to explore the invention of the book; the other is a collection of paintings by Louise Jopling a Victorian artist and teacher who is the subject of a new research project at the university

Coach times: Stracathro 8.15am, Forfar Myre car park 8.45am, Dundee Camperdown 9.15am.

This event has been organised by the Angus Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
