Rex and Roses and Mottisfont

Talk and Tour | Mottisfont Abbey

Wednesday 25 June 2014 - 11:00

Known for his wit and humour, Rex Whistler was one of the most prolific and popular British artists between the wards, producing stage designs, book illustrations, portraits and murals. One of his most challenging commissions was the painted drawing room at Mottisfont Abbey.

Artist and art historian Nikki Frater will give an illustrated talk on Rex Whilstler's life and work, which she has researched and presented over many years. After a buffet lunch with wine, we shall see the drawing room and then wander through the walled garden.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
