An Evening at Ripon Cathedral and the Old Deanery

A joint event with Ripon Cathedral Development Campaign; the evening will begin with attending a sung evensong in the Choir (optional). Then, a sparkling wine reception with canapes in the Old Deanery. The historian Maurice Taylor will then give a lecture on the medieval wood carvings of Ripon Cathedral in the Choir. You will be able to see the elephant that is depicted on the Mappa Mundi as well as the animals (particularly the rabbits) that are thought to have influenced Lewis Carroll in his Alice in Wonderland. Following the talk there is also the opportunity to have a light supper in the Old Deanery at 8.30 pm.

Tickets are £18 for the sparkling wine reception and talk

A two-course supper can be taken in the Old Deanery at 8.30 pm at a cost of £22.50
