Visit: Houghton Lodge

| Houghton Lodge and Gardens

The late-18th century, Grade II* listed Houghton Lodge was probably built as a fishing lodge, and is one of the earliest examples of a Rural Retreat in Hampshire. Built on a hill overlooking the River Test, the house is set in extensive gardens, planted in the 'Natural Style'. The visit will include a private tour of the house and a cream tea, and guests will be able to explore the gardens which include exquisite topiary displays, a chalk cob walled garden, an orchid house and a hydroponic greenhouse. The grounds also contain beautiful riverside and woodland walks.
