Private visit and talk on Yachting History, Heritage and Restoration, by Dr William Collier

| Martin's Bank Building

A wonderful opportunity to learn a little of the history of yachting and the restoration of yachts from the Managing Director, Dr William Collier, of G L Watson & Co Ltd, the oldest established yacht design practice in the world. This firm has been at the forefront of yachting since 1873, and is currently involved restoring some of its inter-war designs, including the 300ft Nahlin. The archives are a feast of colourful history, which visitors will have an opportunity to look at after his talk.

The talk will take place in the Board Room on the 8th floor of Martins Bank Building. The building was designed by Herbert J Rowse, and the Board Room still has many of its original fittings and furnishings.

Wine and nibbles will be served before the talk.
