Visit to Chavenage House and Newark Park

| Chavenage House and Newark Park

Chavenage, despite additions (rebuilt c.1570 and later) is medieval in origin. Its owners will give a guided tour of its interiors and contents. Newark Park, despite being a National Trust property open to the public, will be closed for this private tour by long-time resident and tenant, Michael Claydon. Built as a hunting lodge in c.1550, enlarged to a manor house in the 17th century it was much altered and landscaped by Wyatt in 1790. The interior particularly reflects the latter.
