Spirit of Place: Photography and the Landscape

From the time the art was first developed, photographers have used the camera to transport us to different places, to make us feel that we are 'there'. Gerry Badger, who looks at the various ways in which photographers have captured landscapes, is an architect, photographer and writer. His recent books have included a two-volume History of the Photobook (co-authored with Martin Parr), and he is currently working on the book to accompany a new six-part series being made for the BBC entitled The Genius of Photography.
