Rebecca Moss: Dream Machines
Inspired by The Bowes Museum's iconic 18th-century Silver Swan automaton.
Rebecca Moss's Dream Machines began as a live performance in London's Olympic Park, where audiences gathered on swan pedalos for a lecture unlike any other.
Combining humour, originality and a touch of absurdity, the work explores humanity’s ongoing fascination with machines, invention and automation. Moving images, collection objects and, of course, swan pedalos come together to invite visitors inside the performance and on an unexpected journey from the tale of one extraordinary swan to another.
