Curwen Icons

3 May - 5 July 2024
Free to all

An exhibition of some of the most iconic artists' work made at the Curwen Studio from 1958 - 2013.

Featuring some of the biggest names in Curwen history, the exhibition features lithographs dating from the 1960s onwards, all made under the Directorship of Master Printer Stanley Jones at the Curwen Studio.

Many of the lithographs in the exhibition are working proofs or state proofs which were made before the final edition was finished.

Artists on view include Henry Moore, Ceri Richards, Paula Rego, Edward Bawden, Elisabeth Frink, Stanley Jones, Susan Aldworth, Lynn Chadwick, David Gentleman and John Piper. A highlight on display is this portrait of Aloys Senefelder, the inventor of lithography by Graham Sutherland dating from 1971.
