Discover the importance of drawing to the influential sculptor.
Henry Moore is a well-known and influential sculptor – yet his drawings are often overlooked. Presenting over 30 drawings by Moore, the exhibition will prove how the artist saw drawing both as a tool to develop ideas for sculpture and as an artform in its own right.
From the life studies of his student days through to the casual drawings of his late years, notable works depict some of his best-known sculptures – such as the Shelter drawings and the larger works from the 1930s – alongside informal and experimental pieces.
