Have you considered how fungi affect our daily lives? How do they affect human populations and how do changes in the management of chronic health conditions affect fungal diseases? How important are fungi for us and our environment? There’s much more to fungi than meets the eye! From keeping our soils healthy, to producing medicines, to brewing beer – fungi play a vital role in our world.

To celebrate UK Fungus Day and inspired by our exhibition Living Labyrinths: Art and Fungi, Professor Mark Ramsdale, from the University of Exeter, will guide you on a journey through the fascinating connections between fungi, plants, animals, and humans. Enjoy a gentle foray around Rougement Gardens and Gandy Street, where we will explore the many ways fungi influence our daily lives and environment, often without us even realising.

This will be a relaxed and informal event with plenty of opportunities to meet others, chat, share your thoughts, and ask questions. We expect the event to last around 60 to 75 minutes. Please wear suitable clothes for an outdoor event.
