Using the museum’s collection as inspiration, create a brilliant beetle using mixed media fabric collage. Blend art, nature, and a touch of invention, to feature in an exhibition.

Artist-biologist Catriona Smith of Cat’s Little Geeks will lead this session to create a wall of bugs inspired by museum collections.

Combine textures, colours and patterns to design and make an insect. Your choice of glue or sewing.

There will be museum specimens and magnifying glasses, to take a closer look at different species of beetles.

This session will be relaxed and inclusive.

All materials provided. Ages 11-16 (but might have some wiggle room on this if you get in touch by email).
