Join artist Jason Singh for an extraordinary mushroom meditation session, as live sounds generated by fungi and mycelium merge with voice, percussion and electronics to create a one-of-a-kind musical experience.

Get ready for an explosive mix of feel-good favourites and irresistible beats as DJ DR DOOM brings his Disco Popapocalypse to life. Expect a high-energy soundtrack packed with crowd-pleasing tunes.

The Scratchworks Theatre Company brings the magic of The Mushroom Show to life, led by nature enthusiast Augustine Fogwoode. This fungi-tastic adventure will be full of humour, interaction and a little bit of magic. You may even learn something new about the Fungi Kingdom!

Artist Dr Gemma Anderson-Tempini will be joined by Joana Formosino for a conversation on Myco-Mother, Gemma’s work in the exhibition. Together, they’ll explore drawing as a form of knowledge-making, the doughnut-shaped topology of the human body, and why inheritance and cohabitation, rather than invasion, is the true story of the fungi we carry.

Aileen Baird, Senior Conservation Officer for Fungi at Plantlife, will discuss the impacts of climate change on fungi, the community science project, Waxcap Watch, and the importance of recording fungi and its conservation.

Internationally renowned artist Lucy Mercer, whose glass poems also feature in the exhibition, will be reading some of her most recent work for you on the evening. You can also join a tour of the exhibition, led by RAMM’s contemporary art curator Lara Goodband.

Join musician and facilitator Mike Marks from The Sounds of Learning for an interactive musical exploration inspired by the hidden networks of mycelium. Pick up an instrument and become part of a living, growing soundscape, building a piece of music together from the ground up.

Meet researchers from The MRC Centre for Medical Mycology at the University of Exeter, a world-leading research centre dedicated to improving the diagnosis and treatment of fungal diseases, and discover the fascinating, and sometimes deadly, world of fungi and their impact on human health.

Drawing inspiration from the fascinating forms, textures and colours of fungi, you’ll also have the chance to design and illustrate a unique badge to take home.

Throughout the evening there will be a bar in the Courtyard area of the museum and the café will be open for light bites.
