The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Enter the glittering world of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, a contemporary favourite that follows a reclusive Hollywood icon through a tale of ambition, unexpected friendships and personal reinvention. The session will be introduced by Rachel Whitworth, Curator of Fashion and Textiles, who will explore links to women in the arts, costume, and storytelling through fashion. Readers will be invited to explore bridal wear, 1950s fashion pieces and garments associated with theatre and opera from the museum’s collection, offering a rich backdrop to discussion of glamour and the enduring allure of Hollywood narratives.

Whether you’re a seasoned reader, a museum enthusiast, or looking for a new experience in an inspiring space, dive into a range of fiction, non-fiction, historical and modern explorations of change, style and empowerment through a range of perspectives.
