The London-based Italian designer curates an exhibition of shelving systems at the Serpentine Sackler Gallery.

Ranging from historic design classics and one-off pieces, to industrial, contemporary and newly commissioned work, the display showcases shelving systems made between the 1930s and the present day.

Designs by Gaetano Pesce, Franco Albini, Ettore Sottsass, Ercol, Gio Ponti, Enzo Mari, and IKEA feature, as well those by Martino Gamper himself.

The shelving sets re also used to exhibit objects curated from the personal archives of Gamper's friends and colleagues, as well as furniture manufacturing catalogues from around the world.
