Bruges was the richest and most vibrant city in northern Europe. It attracted an international merchant clientele and the Burgundian rulers of the Netherlands with their magnificent court. Painters such as Jan van Eyck and Hans Memling whose masterpieces, interwoven with sculptures, illuminated manuscripts, and the buildings of Bruges itself, will conjure up life in this medieval metropolis.

This event has been organised by the Surrey Fundraising Committee Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
