In this lecture, Connie Karol Burks, assistant curator of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s exhibition ‘Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams’ and co-author of the new book on Dior that will accompany the exhibition, offers an insight into the couturier’s creations through the various handmade garments and archival material on display. The history of the fashion house and its six artistic directors since Dior is presented, from the launch of the ‘New Look’ (with the ‘Bar’ suit) in 1947 to last summer’s haute couture collection inspired by the Surrealist artist Leonor Fini.

This event has been organised by the London Fundraising Committee Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
