Unlike many English cathedrals, York is fortunate in having retained a great deal of its medieval glass. In this talk, Hilary Moxon will share her research for her PhD on the thirteenth century glass in the Chapter House, hitherto little explored.

The talk will cover the style of glass and interpret the narrative content of each window, highlighting the interventions and methods of conservation over several centuries, as Hilary explains the difficulties encountered by researchers in establishing the glaziers’ original intentions
