Visit to Sheffield Assay Office SOLD OUT

Talk and Tour | Sheffield Assay Office

Friday 16 February 2018 - 10:30 until 13:00

This visit begins with an illustrated talk by the librarian/curator, Emma Paragreen. Emma will talk about the work of the Assay office, which includes hallmarking of gold, silver and platinum as well as performing laser marking of the above materials, including custom requests.

Following the talk there will be a tour of the production area, with an opportunity to view items from the silver collection, including library and archive material related to the work of the office. Finally there will be an opportunity to ask questions and purchase mementoes.

This event has been organised by the South Yorkshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
