Mount Stuart, Isle of Bute

Guided Tour | Mount Stuart House

Friday 19 May 2017 - 09:50 until 17:30

Although Mount Stuart is open to the general public this will be a special private visit accompanied by Peter Black, Curator of Art of Power: Treasures from Mount Stuart, at the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, opening March 2017.

There will be a chance to see rooms not on the general tour, visit the archives and hear more about the treasures not usually on display. A full afternoon tea will be served in the Purple Sitting Room as part of the visit.

Please meet at Wemyss Bay Pier at 9.50am for 10.15am ferry sailing to Rothesay. This will allow members to travel by car to Wemyss Bay if they wish or come by train (appropriate train is the 8.55am from Glasgow Central to Wemyss Bay). Taking a coach on the ferry is prohibitive. Return on the 4.45pm ferry.

This event has been organised by the Strathclyde Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
