Visit to Boughton House
Visit | Boughton House
Tuesday 4 June 2013
Boughton House has been the home of the Montagu family and the Dukes of Buccleuch and Queensbury for nearly 500 years. A special visit has been organised which will begin with an in-depth tour of the house with its exceptional collection of furniture, paintings, porcelain, weapons and textiles. Following lunch in the Boughton Stables, the guided bus tour will take in more of the wider estate, visiting one of the family churches. There will then be a chance to explore the gardens and see the new installation, an inverted grass pyramid 'Orpheus'.
This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
