Lecture: The Local Heritage of John Dobson

Cyril Winskill will talk about two examples of the work of John Dobson (1787-1865), the most noted architect of his time in the North East and designer of more than 50 churches and 100 private houses. Cyril is currently engaged in the conservation of one fine local example of Dobson's work: St. James, Benwell which was originally built as a Chapel of Ease. His talk will also include reference to Jesmond Towers.
