Opera and Picnic Evening: 'Erismena, Princess of Media', New College, Oxford

| New College

A welcome opportunity to join Art Fund members in Oxfordshire to see the New Chamber Opera’s performance of Francesco Cavalli’s musical score of Aurelio Aureli’s story, which was first performed in Venice in 1655. The evening, at New College, celebrates the Bodleian Library’s acquisition of the earliest known opera manuscript with a complete English singing translation.

The opera will be performed in the Warden’s Garden (in the Chapel, if wet!) with a supper interval ('own picnic') in the beautiful cloisters.
