Lecture: 'Victor Pasmore, his achievements and safe-guarding his artistic heritage' by John Pasmore (Coventry)

| Milburn House

A fascinating talk by John Pasmore about his father, Victor Pasmore, specifically his achievements and how his artistic heritage is safe-guarded today.

Victor Pasmore is widely regarded as one of the greatest English painters of the 20th century. Leading the way from figurative to abstract, his work features in major collections of modern art throughout the world. His family faced many challenges following his death – conserving often large and complex works, managing artistic reputation as fashions changed. See the evolution from post-impressionism to large scale abstraction and architecture, and gain an unusual insight into how the art worlds of experts and galleries interact. John Pasmore, a highly regarded photographer will show examples of his work, together with rare material from the Victor Pasmore archive.

The lecture follows the Warwickshire Annual Meeting which provides a brief review of branch activity and forward plans and the opportunity to meet the committee behind local events and suggest future activity.
